Sewer Pipe Repairs

Settling or shifting soil, earthquakes, tree roots, or simple aging can damage sewer lines. The pipe can become cracked, broken, or even collapsed leading to sewage leaks. With the odor and health hazards, you’ll definitely want your sewer pipe repairs completed promptly and properly.
You may need sewer repair even if there are no noticeable odors or wet spots outdoors. Are your toilets backed up or making gurgling sounds? Are several of your drains “clogged?” The problem may be from a sewer line that has settled, creating a low spot where debris and waste collect.

Tree roots can also block flow, and are a common cause of sewer pipe damage for homes built before the 1970s. Back then clay, cast iron, and other more-easily damaged materials were commonly used.
Long before we start digging or hauling in equipment we’ll begin with an in-pipe sewer video camera inspection to identify the exact nature of the problem and its location. That way we can determine the best course of action and can give you complete up-front pricing

Trenchless Sewer Repair and Replacement

In the last 10 years or so a couple of alternative repair and replacement techniques have been developed. That’s recently enough that you may have never heard of these alternatives to disrupting your landscaping and pavement.
Pipe bursting requires digging only a small hole. Special equipment follows along the line, bursting the old sewer pipe outwards and inserting a new pipe along the same path. That new sewer pipe is made of a non-leaking root-deflecting polymer that could well last 100 years or more.
Pipe relining adds a thick epoxy lining inside the sewer line, essentially creating a pipe within a pipe. The new inside diameter will still be plenty large enough to support full-flow, and with this method it may be possible to complete repairs with no digging at all.

Water Pipe Repairs

With water pressure around some 50 psi (pounds per square inch), most pipe leaks should be pretty obvious with spraying water. But those leaks could be hidden within walls, above the ceiling, or under the floor slab. Our experienced plumbers use the latest leak detection equipment to determine if you have a water leak, and then track down its exact location. That keeps building damage and subsequent repairs to an absolute minimum.
Water leak repairs are most common in homes and buildings completed before 1970, when galvanized iron pipes were common. Their zinc coating erodes, and then the iron begins to rust, eventually leading to leaks. Low-quality copper pipes are subject to pinhole water leaks, also as a result of corrosion.
Proper water pipe repairs involve replacing the damaged section of plumbing. External clamps or fiberglass wraps are a temporary solution at best. You can count on us to complete repairs properly while keeping costs down.

Gas Pipe Repairs

Gas leaks are rare, but very dangerous. The hazard is much greater than merely fire; the right air-gas mixture is explosive. If you notice a rotten egg smell from the special odorant added to natural gas specifically to help you notice leaks, extinguish all flames and leave the area immediately. Do not turn off lights (or turn them on), or even a flashlight, as there might be a spark and don’t use your cell phone to report the problem until you’re safely outdoors.

The gas leak could be coming from the building’s gas lines, or dryer, water heater, fireplace, fire pit, or BBQ connections. If you notice that sulfur-like smell outdoors or see bubbling on the ground, it’s very likely you have a gas pipe leak between the utility’s main and your building.
Whether you need gas pipe repairs or replacing valves or fittings, safety means employing only the most skilled and experienced plumbers. A gas repair should be performed by a properly certified and licensed master plumber. We always send out the proper expert. While we’re there we’ll we encourage you to let us inspect all your gas lines and connections.
There are very special regulations concerning repair and restoring gas service. In some cases you will need an official inspection before the utility can turn the gas supply to your building back on.
